Just days after committing their futures to Arsenal, Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey and Carl Jenkinson looked as pleased as punch at training.
The quintet signed five-year deals this week to bring some Christmas cheer to the Emirates after the Gunners’ recent run of poor form.
But Theo Walcott is still stalling over putting pen to paper on a new contract of his own and seemed down in the dumps ahead of Arsenal’s visit to Wigan tomorrow.
Earlier in the week, Walcott said: ‘Talks are ongoing and it’s going to be a slow process. It’s taking a long time but hopefully something will happen soon.’
Meanwhile, manager Arsene Wenger’s own future has comeback onto the agenda following a difficult spell, which included a shock Capital One Cup defeat on penalties at Bradford.
