The Gunners are interested in Lyon's midfielder Yoann Gourcuff. They hope to have him at the Emirates in January on loan when the transfer window opens.

Here’s some Arsenal transfer news: The Gunners are interested in Lyon Midfielder Yoann Gourcuff and would like to have him on loan in January. His name’s come up a few times this year and the gunners were interested in him in the summer. Let’s see if they have more success in the january transfer window.

Arsenal have reportedly made an enquiry about signing Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff on loan in January.

Gourcuff has been linked with Arsenal throughout the year and was a target for the Gunners during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitted back in October that he decided against signing the France international during the summer over concerns about his fitness.

The 25-year-old has struggled for form this season but is still on Wenger’s radar ahead of the transfer window reopening next month, and according to Goal.com, the north London club have approached Lyon about a loan deal.

Arsenal are said to believe they can help revive the career of the playmaker, who has fallen down the pecking order at the Ligue 1 club this season, and according to the report, the player himself is believed to be open to a short-term move in a bid to regain his place in the France squad ahead of next summer’s European Championships – something which backs up a similar report last week.

Gourcuff recently admitted that he was “very, very happy” to learn that Arsenal were showing interest in signing him. Original article here.

Yoann Gourcuff would be a welcome addition to Wenger’s squad and if the player is happy about moving then it’s a good sign as far as I am concerned.

Barcelona are still refusing to pay what Arsenal deem to be a fair price for their skipper and Xavi telling the world that Cesc is suffering doesn't seem to help out. It only tarnishes Barcelona's image further.

Barcelona are still dallying around over the gunners captain Cesc Fabregás. Xavi should shut up as it’s getting tedious now telling the world that Cesc is “suffering”. The ones who are making Cesc “suffer” is Barcelona and their stupid antics over the price of Cesc.

Barcelona can end Cesc’s “suffering” by depositing 50Million into Arsenal’s bank account – enough said.

Arsenal are set to begin the new season with no fewer than six members of their first-team squad ruled out by injury.

Arsenal are set to begin the new season with no fewer than six members of their first-team squad ruled out by injury after Johan Djourou, Theo Walcott, Abou Diaby and Lukasz Fabianski were added to the Gunners’ casualty list.

Amid the gloom, the one piece of good news provided by Arsene Wenger on Thursday afternoon was that, contrary to expectation, Thomas Vermaelen has been passed fit for this weekend’s trip to Everton. The Belgian has missed the last three weeks of pre-season with a hamstring injury but completed forty-five minutes for his country in midweek and is set to line up alongside William Gallas at Goodison Park.

His rehabilitation is just as well given that Djourou, poised to start the season as Gallas’ partner, has been ruled out for a month with a knee complaint. In the absence of further signings following the sale of Kolo Toure, Djourou’s setback leaves just Mikael Silvestre as defensive cover during a period in which Arsenal also have to travel to Old Trafford, Celtic Park, and Eastlands.

Arsene Wenger is ready to sign Brazilian wonderkid Wellington, who is out of contract after being released by Brazilian club Fluminese after rising through the ranks at the club. The French boss had the Brazilian U -17 international watched consistently and is now ready to snap up the starlet to avoid losing him to Manchester Unites, Liverpool or Chelsea.
