Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has insisted he won’t be following Cristiano Ronaldo from the Premier League to La Liga.

Manchester United have agreed to sell Ronaldo to Real Madrid for a world-record £80million, while Fabregas has been linked with a return to former club Barcelona.

The 22-year-old is also admired by Real but has a contract until 2014 and insists he has no intention of leaving Arsenal. “Of course I see my future at Arsenal. I have a very long contract with the club”, Fabregas told the club’s website.

‘I would have never signed that if I did not think I was capable of making it (to the end of the contract). The boss knows that I really want to stay here.’

After losing 3-1 to Manchester United last night, manager Arsene Wenger admitted that the tie was over before the match had really started.

United had scored 2 goals in the first 10 minutes after mistakes from Kieran Gibbs and Manuel Almunia, with Ronaldo capping off the perfect United performance with another goal in the second half.

Despite the early setbacks, Arsenal never really looked like scoring against a well-organised United defence over the two legs and keeper Edwin van der Sar was never really tested.

Wenger said: “The most disappointing thing tonight is that we don’t feel like we’ve played the Semi-Final of the Champions League because we were out of it after 10 minutes.
