What would the Arsenal fans think of Jose Mourinho coming to to the Emirates? Would they let him? There’s been a bit of banter in the news that Jose Mourinho is tipped to come back to the Premier League next season. At the moment he’s top of the league or La Liga in Spain with a clear 7 points difference over main rivals, Catalan giants Barca.

While Real Madrid might like the chance to see Wenger in charge, would it be reciprocated at Arsenal? i was reading Ian Wright’s column today and he thinks not.

I personally agree with Wrighty when he states:

Mourinho has brilliant tactical ability but also a nose for an argument.

He always seems to be in conflict with his players, opposing managers, fans or the board. The Premier League is where he is happiest. Perhaps over here, the fans understand what he is all about.

But I just do not think he would be suited at Arsenal, who have a history of doing things the right way.

I cannot imagine any Gunners manager celebrating a goal by sliding on his knees in the Emirates technical area.

Equally, I do not think Mourinho will ever get the chance of managing Manchester United for much the same reasons as why he will not manage Arsenal. More here.

I think Ian Wright has some valid points to consider and although there is no doubting The Special One’s ability having won leagues in England, Portugal and Italy and being 7 points ahead of mighty Barcelona, Mourinho wouldn’t gel at Arsenal for the reasons that Wrighty has stated above.

It would be a magnificent feat to win the league in Spain and would certainly cement his success as a great trainer. Sometimes clubs don’t need great trainers, they need someone that understands the players, the fans and the board at the same time. Good luck with you job hunting Jose!

Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger has surprised everyone by saying he would be interested in signing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

In a move which is quite surprising for the Gunners boss, Wenger has named the French international as a target, and believes it would be possible to tempt him away from the Santiago Bernebeau stadium.

Despite scoring 26 goals this season, Karim Benzema has failed to establish himself as first choice under José Mourinho, and Wenger thinks he could add something to the Gunners’ front line.

He said: “Signing him does not seem impossible. He’s a player that I like.

“He’s intelligent in his movement, he is capable of combining well with others and making a difference, and of doing individual moves as well.

“So, for me, he’s a player who’s at the top level in the world.”

Despite it being widely accepted that Arsenal need defensive reinforcements this summer, a new striker would not go amiss with the likely departures of Nicklas Bendtner and Marouane Chamakh.

Real Madrid are turning their attention to Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas after being priced out of a move for Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso.

The Spanish giants are not only ready to test Fabregas’s loyalty to the Gunners, but also to Barcelona – the club he supports and where he trained before going to England as a 16-year-old. He has regularly been linked with a return to the Nou Camp.

Liverpool scared off Real Madrid with talk of a £40m price-tag for Alonso, who Bernabeu president Florentino Perez had openly praised and pursued, much to the anger of Rafa Benitez.

ARSENE WENGER will be in charge at the Emirates next season after dismissing reports he is on the verge of quitting the Gunners.

The Arsenal boss has reportedly been approached by Real Madrid presidential candidate Florentino Perez about becoming manager of the Spanish giants should he get elected to the post.

And Wenger did little to quash those rumours when he stated on French television that it would be interesting to work for Perez, who has courted the Gunners boss on a number of occasions throughout his 13 year rein as Arsenal chief.

But Wenger seems set to stay on at the Emirates after vowing to stay put in north London.

The Arsenal boss said: “There’s nothing to worry about, it’s not an issue for me.

“I’m staying here. If that changes I will let you know, but don’t worry about that. It’s not an issue.”

Wenger has been heavily criticised in recent weeks after seeing his team stumble at the semi-final stage of the FA Cup and Champions League.
